About the Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox may lead the league in nicknames. They are called the Sox, the South Siders, the Pale Hose, the ChiSox, Medias Blancas, and the Black Sox—a reference to the 1919 scandal where several White Sox players fixed the World Series. The nickname "South Siders" differentiates the team from the Cubs who are located on the north side of Chicago.
After spending 80 years in famed Comiskey Park, the team moved into U.S. Cellular Field (the Cell) in 1991. Aligned in the American League's Central Division, the White Sox's main rivals are the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers. The club is managed by the always entertaining Ozzie Guillen and led on the field by Paul Konerko and Carlos Quentin.
