About the St. Louis Cardinals
The St. Louis Cardinals have fielded some of the greatest baseball players of all-time: Rogers Hornsby, Enos Slaughter, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, and Stan "The Man" Musial. While he still has a long ways to go to join that group, current Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols is perhaps the greatest player of his generation. In the first nine years of his career, Pujols won the Nation League MVP award three times.
As of 2010, the Cardinals have won 10 World Series titles, the second most in the majors behind the New York Yankees. The Cardinals were established in 1882 and joined the National League (where they still reside) a decade later. The franchise is part of the Central Division and they play their home games at Busch Stadium. Their main rivals are the Chicago Cubs.
