About the Colorado Rockies
In 2007, the Colorado Rockies went 21-1 after September 15 to not only set a major league record but to earn the franchise its first trip to the World Series (where they were swept by the Boston Red Sox). Fans call this historic streak "Rocktober." Another team highlight came in 2010, when Ubaldo Jimenez no-hit the Atlanta Braves. It was the first no-hitter in franchise history.
The Rockies entered the Major Leagues in 1993 as an expansion team. They are currently aligned in the National League's West Division and they play their home games in the city of Denver at hitter-friendly Coors Field. Currently, the Rockies are led by Troy Tulowitzki and Brad Hawpe. Besides "Rockies," the club also goes by the nicknames "The Rox" and the "Blake Street Bombers."
