About the Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers began playing baseball in 1969 in the city of Seattle, Washington. Back then they were known as the Pilots. Sadly, they went bankrupt after just one season. Bud Selig, who became MLB Commissioner in 1992, bought the team and moved them to Milwaukee. Once in Wisconsin, they became known as the Brewers and were actually a part of the American League until 1997.
While a member of the Junior Circuit, the Brewers reached the 1982 World Series. Today, the Brewers are aligned in the National League's Central Division and their home field is Miller Park. They are led by Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun, and Corey Hart. Two of the all-time greatest Brewers are Paul Molitor and Robin Yount, both members of the 3,000 hit club.
Also associated with the team is there radio broadcaster, the hilarious Bob Uecker. He was dubbed "Mr. Baseball" by Johnny Carson.
