Jim Harbaugh on Bears' Marc Trestman: he 'taught me everything'
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has nothing but high praise for his former mentor and new Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman.
While he does call the hiring a "bold, unconventional move", he couldn't agree more with the Bears' line of thinking when they chose him, although he's been away from the NFL for so long. Trestman took his talents to the CFL after being passed up way too many times for a head coaching gig in the NFL, but now he's found his dream job and Harbaugh knows he's got what it takes to lead the team to success.
He "taught me everything," Harbaugh said Friday on WMVP-AM, via ESPN Chicago. "Everything wouldn't be an overstatement; We use his system still of calling plays and the way he taught us those concepts and techniques. I've used (those) since I coached with the Raiders, the University of San Diego, Stanford and the 49ers."

Bears' Urlacher was Rodgers' favorite opponent
Brian Urlacher never fared well against the Green Bay Packers during a 13-year career with the Chicago Bears that ended this week with a somewhat unexpected retirement announcement.
Despite the Bears only winning 9 of 27 in that time against their NFC North rival, Urlacher often made his presence felt. He also left a lasting impression on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who called Urlacher his "favorite player to play against" in an interview with Jim Rome.
"I just have the utmost amount of respect for him, the way he plays the game," Rodgers told Rome. "A lot of memories come to mind. He picked me off a couple times, maybe more than anybody else has. But I had one really bad play in the NFC Championship in the 2010 season and was able to somehow grab his knee or thigh area enough to trip him up for a tackle. That's one of my favorite memories going against Brian."
While that play may have been Urlacher's best against either Rodgers or Brett Favre during heated Pack
Ex-Bears player Dick Evey, 72, dies

Smith Funeral & Cremation Service in Maryville, Tenn., says he died Thursday at the Ben Atchley State Veterans Home in Knoxville after a long illness.
Evey played from 1964-69 with the Bears, who selected him out of Tennessee in the first round of the 1964 draft. Evey played with the Los Angeles Rams in 1970 and the Detroit Lions in 1971.
NESN Falls Victim To Fake Article About Urlacher Signing One Day Contract With Packers
NESN had quite the blunder today during a college baseball game. On their TV telecast they ran a ticker at the bottom of the screen which stated that Brian Urlacher signed a one-day deal with the Packers. Why would they do that when it isn’t true? The reason is because Sportspickle.com ran a hilarious story which said that Urlacher was doing so, butit was obviously in jest as with most articles on a satirical website. Whoops…
Here is SportsPickle’s article entitled: Brian Urlacher Retires as a Green Bay Packer: “I just wanted to go out a winner” and below is the brilliant screencap of the blunder.
