About the Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins moved into their open air stadium, Target Field, in April of 2010. Prior to the move the Twins played in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Twins are actually a charter member of the American league. From 1901 to 1960 they played in Washington D.C. and were known as either the Nationals or the Senators.
The Twins have fielded quite a number of hall of fame players including Walter Johnson, Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew and Kirby Puckett. Johnson helped the franchise capture the 1924 World Series while Pucket was an integral part of the 1987 and 1991 championship teams. The Twins are aligned in Central Division and are led by catcher Joe Mauer and first baseman Justin Morneau.
