About the Toronto Blue Jays
In 1993, the Toronto Blue Jays repeated as World Series Champions after slugger Joe Carter hit a three-run walk-off home run off of Philadelphia Phillies closer Mitch Williams. It was just the second World Series to ever end on a walk-off home run.
The Blue Birds entered the Majors Leagues in 1977 as an expansion team. In 1989, they moved into their current home stadium, Rogers Centre, although it was originally called Skydome. The Blue Jays, led by outfielders Vernon Wells and Adam Lind, are aligned in the East Division of the American League. Since 2004, the Jays have been Major League Baseball's only Canadian team.
