'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' Playing In L.A.
If you have tickets to see How The Grinch Stole Christmas, playing in Los Angeles this holiday season, make sure you look for Terren Mueller and Isabella Briscoe on stage. These two talented young performers won the "Are You A Who?" Grinch casting contest.

The two youngsters were among five contestants that auditioned for the Grinch musical on live television. The American Idol-like segment was featured on "Good Day L.A.," a morning show airing on the local Fox affiliate.
Later on the same program, Terren and Isabella were told the good news that they had passed the audition and were the newest members of Whoville. Needless to say, Christmas came early for the two young thespians.
Who knows if these roles are the start of a lifetime on the boards or just a factoid for their college admission form. Either way, appearing on stage in the musical version of the Grinch will be a great experience and a wonderful story they can tell their friends and families for years to come.
Not to mention they saved mom and dad from having to buy the entire family tickets to see How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
You can see Terren and Isabella in Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas at Los Angeles' Pantages Theatre. The show runs from Nov. 10 to Jan. 3, 2010.
You can also check out the How The Grinch Stole Christmas at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego from Nov. 21 to Dec. 27. This is the 12th year the Grinch has played at the illustrious Globe.
The Grinch musical captures all the charm of the Dr. Seuss book and the famous 1966 animated special while eschewing the abrasiveness, and the Jim Carrey-ness, of the 2000 live action movie.
Timothy Mason wrote the book and lyrics while Mel Marvin composed the music. Jack O'Brien, the artistic director of the Old Globe Theatre, conceived and directed the original production.
Besides the Marvin and Mason tunes, there are also a couple of songs from the animated special. Those songs were composed by Albert Hague and include lyrics by Dr. Seuss himself.
You can rest assured that when you attend the Grinch musical you'll hear the classics "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome, Christmas."
The musical version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas began its journey in Minneapolis in 1994. The production was repeated in 1995 and 1998. It ran on Broadway in 2006 and 2007.
The 2006 production was a huge success. So much so that it usurped Wicked as Broadway's top grossing musical. Grinch ended Wicked's reign of 100 straight weeks as the Great White Way's number one money earner.
The 2007 production was marred by the Local One stagehand strike. Fortunately, deals were made with the union and after a two week hiatus, the Grinch returned to the stage.
A touring company brought the Grinch to life in 2008. The group stayed on the East coast visiting the cities of Baltimore and Boston.
Just so you'll know, the show runs about 90 minutes and there are no intermissions; Max the Dog narrates the story; and sets and costumes are inspired by illustrations from the original book by Dr. Seuss.
