About Chelsea Handler

Chelsea Handler is having a varied and prosperous career. She's achieved success as a stand-up comedian, television host, author, and actress. She's best known for her talk show Chelsea Lately which airs on the E! cable television network. She has her own column in Cosmopolitan magazine and was involved in the popular internet based program In The Motherhood.

After achieving success as a stand-up comedian in the early to mid-2000's, Handler received her own show on the E! network in 2006. The Chelsea Handler Show featured sketch comedy and ran just one season. While that show was short-lived it did lead to Chelsea Lately which debuted in July of 2007.

Apart from her own shows, Handler has appeared on television via Scarborough Country, The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice, My Wife and Kids, Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld, and The View. She's also been a correspondent for The Tonight Show.

Through 2010, Handler has penned three books. The first, My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands, was released in 2005. Her second offering, Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea, made the NY Times non-fiction best seller list in the spring of 2008. And Handler's third book, Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, was released on March 9.

In 2007, Handler quit her job as host of the reality show "On The Lot" after just one episode "because I smelled the disaster happening before it did."

In 2008, Handler claimed she declined an offer to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

In 2009, Handler appeared on an alternative cover for Playboy Magazine. While she posed for a pictorial she did not appear nude.

In 2010, Handler made headlines when she split with long time boyfriend Ted Harbert, CEO of Comcast Entertainment and therefore her boss. The two had been living together.

Handler was born in Livingston, New Jersey on February 25, 1975. She's the youngest of six children.
