About Hip Hop

With the emergence of commercial and crime-boasting rap during the early 1990s, an emphasis on violence was incorporated, with many rappers and hiphop artists bragging about drugs, weapons, cheating, and violence. Although hip hop music now appeals to a broader demographic, media critics argue that politically and socially conscious hip hop has been replaced with by media-savvy gangsta rap mainstream America.
