Lone Star 500

The Lone Star 500, now called the Firestone Twin 275s, is an IndyCar Series race held at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. Since its inception in 1997, the race has generally been held in early June and is usually the first race after the Indianapolis 500.

As the name suggests, the Firestone Twin 275s is two races. So fans with speedway tickets, formerly Lone Star 500 tickets, have the opportunity to see two fully fielded and fully sanctioned races. Half points are awarded to drivers in each race. Previous winners of this event include Helio Castroneves, Sam Hornish, Jr., and Scott Goodyear.

The Texas Motor Speedway sells more than Firestone Twin 275s tickets. Every year, NASCAR holds six races at the Texas Speedway, two from each of their three main circuits: Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Truck Series.
